ABOUT Ni'jai (akA A.jay)
A. Jay Johnson Jr. (he/they), known in creative spaces as Ni’jai, is a Brooklyn-based “anti-disciplinary” creative and Culture & Brand Strategy Director . With 9+ years of experience in brand storytelling and cultural strategy, A. Jay has partnered with brands like D’ussé, Hulu, Max, Burger King, St. Jude, Amazon, and Pepsi—helping build emotional resonance with diverse, culture-forward audiences.
His work lives at the intersection of creativity, culture, and advocacy. As a strategist, A. Jay brings sharp cultural insight and a deeply human lens. As a photographer and creative, his visuals center identity, emotion, and community—particularly within Black and queer spaces. He’s also the founder of Paper Therapy, a wellness brand rooted in radical self-reflection and emotional accessibility. Through affirmations, workshops, and creative tools, he creates space for healing that feels honest and human.
A queer, Black plant daddy whose energy enhances any space he enters, Aaron Ni’jai will be the first to throw shade and the last one off the dance floor. He is engaged in activism professionally and socially and lives in Brooklyn, NY by way of Virginia.
